2022 WINNER: Best Direction, Learning on Screen Educational Film Award 2022

An incredible project I am so proud to have directed - I still get goosebumps when the judgement is read. It was a strange challenge to make this documentary at the height of the pandemic, but a privilege to speak to such motivated human rights and gender justice activists. From over 11 interviews I structured the narrative around the hero’s journey to take the viewer on the highs and lows that those fighting for survivors’ justice endured. The commissioners wanted this video to commemorate the Tokyo Tribunal; in the end it was a celebration and call to arms.
